Thoughts on PES 2021?

So PES 2021 launches today so I thought it would be a good idea to get initial impressions and follow it up over the next few days and weeks.

I'll start by saying that it feels different. All opinions on 1.01:

The flow of the game is slightly tweaked, feels more measured. AI is improved and CPU now attempt to dribble and actually make mistakes. Positioning has been improved. Refs still need a tweak, they let stuff go but outcomes on slide tackling are better for sure. If you win the ball with a clean tackle now but follow through and buckle the man, you will not be penalized. TTOn

Good to know. I've not taken the plunge yet. I may decide to order it. Once I've read more on gameplay.

Game flows well, it just seems smoother.

Crossing looks to have been improved and from the dozen or so games i've played, the defenders do make mistakes, but they also read hopeful though balls better.

I managed to sneak a game in there. I agree with what’s been said, game flows that bit smoother than 2020. Enjoyed what I’ve seen so far.

So is there any change in gameplay? I wasn’t gonna pick it up as I still have my copy of 20 but no console till the ps5 but I’m probably just gonna do it. Is there any changes in the menus etc?

Have you played more than 10 games? Because this where the “real” gameplay comes to life.

Sorry if I’m posting this in the wrong thread but got a noob question. I’ve just downloaded the V1 option file and put all the files into a new folder I created. Is it just a case of putting that folder onto a usb and going onto pes and downloading it? Basically looking for an idiots guide to install on ps4.

You need to create a folder called WEPES first, and throw all the content of the OF into that folder. Then you can plug your USB (if it's not reading it, then you probably have the wrong format for the USB).
